19th August, World Humanitarian Day is celebrating humanitarian efforts globally & propagating the idea of supporting people in crisis and their undying contribution in making the world a better place. So on this day, OCHA advocates on behalf of the entire humanitarian community.

On 11 December 2008, the United Nations General Assembly decided to designate 19 August as World Humanitarian Day (WHD). Hence, this day gives special recognition to all humanitarians. Also, UN and other personnel have worked in the betterment of the humanitarian cause and commemorates. Those of them who have lost their lives in the cause of duty.
