It also encourages us to give importance of youngsters and women education everywhere in the globe.

History

UNESCO stated the term International Literacy Day on November 7 in 1965. 8th September was announced is ILD by the 14th session of UNESCO’s General Conference on October 26 in 1966. To spread awareness of the world about the importance of literacy, it was announced to be held each year from 1967.

Theme 2020 Of International Literacy Day

This year the theme is to focus on “Literacy teaching and learning within the COVID-19 crisis and beyond”. The sudden changing work conditions & School College closing, it’s going to give us a decent idea to keep us going. 2020 theme will highlight literacy learning. Also, literacy learning teaching that can coexist with the situation we are in.
