Virtual Communication Blog

A Bit of Visibility in the virtual world!

Communication is all about exchanging meaning, ideas, and information from one personality to the other. The passing of thoughts with the interaction among the human being is a form of motivational or reasonable communicativeness. There are different and unique channels of ‘communication’ between humans with different varieties of specifications.

VISUAL COMMUNICATION – It is a broad spectrum that conveys messages and ideas in the form of visual eyesight.

VERBAL COMMUNICATION – It is oral communication as well. However, we can transmit the message through spoken words.

WRITTEN COMMUNICATION – It is all about exchanging the message process through the written symbols.

The Blog is all about Communication in the Virtual World!

The virtual world has taken up and engulfed the whole demographic area like a swamp. Here, the difference is that this swamp is huge and vast. Technology has made it clear and more adaptable for us. Today, not only we can use it for impersonal medium but also we can use it in a business environment.

However, virtual communication is a necessity in today’s world. This mode of communication includes audio, video, and written forms. Although the virtual way of communication started way back with the invention of telephones. But the action has taken the world fanatical now.

Now the question lies here – Is Virtual Communication are the instances of creating misconceptions or misinterpretations?

Every aspect of communication has at least two participants. There is a sender who puts in words and transmits the message at one end. While the other end is the next person, a receiver who gets the reflection of the other person’s thinking.

When we communicate physically in front of the person there are fewer chances of having any miscommunications. The reason for it is the tone of voice, body language, facial expression, vocabulary, sarcasm, appearance, phraseology, position, and other factors that play a vital role in it.

In general, we can say that our mind has some ideas and concept sets. The process is mindset. It is full of assumptions, preconceptions, prejudices, and a lack of deeper involvement of understanding. We, humans, are prone to miscommunication because we tend to evaluate and set our own perceptions.

The Downside of the written communication in Virtual World!

Ambiguous messages are the first on the list of communication. The sender will never know the expectations of the receiver. We must be clarifying the received message. If the virtual write-up is not clear then the correspondent stays in the dark and leads to misinterpretation.

The communication with the wrong appearance of text can interpret as intentionally done. Though, it is unintended from the sender’s side the cues in the text can be wrongly interpreted. It can offend the receiver as an attack or criticism.

Sometimes the message might interpreted or deceptive. Most of the time the reader does not pay attention to the whole message. Rather they see the odd words which will simply misguide them. The punctuation mark and grammar in the sentences are extremely vital.

Every individual is a mix of different mindsets like health, upbringing, income, social status, education, family, politics, media, religion, values, influences, morals and etc. When the message received does not fit any of the above criteria then it is difficult to accept the understanding.

How to ‘handle it with care’?

In order to not appear stupid, people are likely to stay quiet and be offensive about the written message they received. They don’t complain about the interpretation or misconception they have regarding the message. The mechanism of solving communication difficulties is simple. Basically, we all need to speak.

In order to have less misinterpretation of your words, one has to be careful. The following etiquette can set out as a theme of the guideline. These urging civilities while written communication can save you.

  • Always send clear messages. If the sentence is unclear or confusing then redo it.
  • Punctuation marks are really important. Type the text with appropriate words and correct punctuation.
  • Always be quick with the communication when it is professional. Select correct and appropriate words.
  • Try to avoid serious topics or bad news for phone calls or face-to-face conversations.
  • You should reread the written text. The recipient of the text should be full of clear intentions and proofread.
