Just like a fairytale, women are an ethereal personage which seems extremely delicate. But, a woman is a nature beholder of affection, beauty, caring, fierce, loving, passionate, provider, surreal, vigorous, well-wisher, etc. All the adjectives in the world seem petty in their description.
However, they are certainly not a piece of showpiece or trophy for the rest of the world to stare at. Rather than being traditional homemakers, they are also career-maker with the ability to conquer the entire world.
Every year 8th march is an accolade and celebrated as International Women’s Day worldwide. Well, everyone celebrates this day cheerfully with many stalwart women on personal and professional fronts. Though, it is globally known yet the acknowledgment of this occasional day is not yet emphatic as it should be.
According to history the standard of equity started back in the year 1909. It was evident that women of garment workers started a movement in full sway. There were approx. 15000 women that marched in the street of New York City. Their demands were about the right to vote, equal salaries like men, and lesser working hours.
In the later year 1910, a preceded general meeting of the International Women Socialist took place in Copenhagen, Denmark. Getting inspired by the socialists of America, German representatives named Clara Zetkin, Kate Duncker, Paula Thiede, and others proposed to celebrate a day in the honour of women as “Women Day”.
Further in the year 1911, the day was crowned as Women’s day internationally. The day to appreciate the women’s resilience, hard work, potentialities, leadership qualities, career, unpaid duties, etc.
Every year there is a theme to follow on International Women’s Day. This year’s theme is women in leadership – ‘Choose to Challenge’. The underlying meaning of this signifies that every challenge comes with a solution to it. This eventually results in a change in the environment around us and the world gets alert about the happenings with women across the globe.
It should be something like this that ‘every day is a celebratory occasion’. Since there are a thousand reasons to celebrate and Women’s Day has a symbolized color that originated in the year 1908. The colors Purple, Green & White has a drift to play in the occasion of International Women’s Day (IWD). The color purple signifies justice and dignity, green is the color of hope whereas, and white is the color of purity.
With the emphasis on the importance of the right of equal choices for women like men, this world will precede forward. Here are some musing ideas to celebrate the day.
