Education is the fundamental towards a race civilization. Understanding the importance of education UNESCO at their 14th annual General Conference held on the 26th of October 1966 made an announcement to observe World Literacy Day every year on the 8th of September. This year the theme emphasizes the idea of “Promoting Multilingual education: literacy for mutual understanding and peace.” The theme signifies the importance of acknowledging multi-language in order to encourage building a unified nation. With this idea it is very probable to establish harmony and a sense of acceptance of everyone among the people.
Looking back to the times when literacy rate was declining to today education witnessing the highest importance. Time definitely has evolved leading to making us believe on the necessity of education for creating a blissful living standard. With a proper education our roots as a human are strengthened making you aware of the birth rights leading to impacting our decision making. Additionally, education builds our cognitive abilities thereby making us through challenging situations conveniently. This paves towards creating an economically developed society.
This year’s is specifically holding special significance for promoting the idea of bridging language barriers and creating a multi-linguistic accepted nation. By welcoming different languages we will not only open the door to multi-cultures but also gain opportunities to understand varied cultures and traditions better.
With literacy rate increasing we are noticing people being better aware about their rights and duties towards the society. It is solely because of education we could study the various laws and conventions prevalent leading reducing the offence rate and better understandability of the situations. Possessing a proper education allows us to appear as dignified before the society. Besides, it paves the way towards grooming self including understanding the proper way of public presentation, demeanor and etiquettes and how to navigate those habits.
On this day we look back and appreciate the innovations and advancements achieved over time as a result of increased literacy rates. The list of acknowledgement is too long for completion at a single take. Highlighting these achievements out to the youths creates awareness, enthusiasm and encouragement to regularize education as a part of their living. This will forge for a developed economy alongside building the urge of pursuing regular education.
A proper education not only grooms personal development but too shapes the national growth. It is only education that cultivates the sense and urge for self-development. And hereby when each one motivates leads to creating developed nation. Education educates races thereby building a nation that’s propelling forward.
