Sport is a physical activity that involves physical exertion and skills for entertainment purposes. Sport may include an individual or a whole team of people that competes against one another.
Development is a term that denotes raise and growth to become more elaborate, advanced, and mature in any field.
Whereas for Peace, it is a social sense that is a concept of societal friendship everywhere with harmony and love for everyone.
As 6th April is denoted as International Day of Sport, it has two main causes affixed with it. The first is Development and the second one is Peace. This day was acknowledged by the United Nations General Assembly on August 23rd, 2013. It was also supported by the International Olympic Committee and since 6th April 2014, this day was restored as one of the International Days.
It is somewhat an annual celebration to acknowledge the power sport holds. The proclamation of changes in society with development for the community is a fostering method for understanding peace.
Sports do involve competitiveness where it has a winner and a loser. But sport does eventually bring everyone together and unites every single individual to work together. It brings out the best in every single person that are – dedication, hard work, honesty, respect, work ethics, commitment, and much more.
People all around the world come together and combine everyone to watch their favorite sports. And this foreseen of people coming together was sensed and watched by the UN that fits their agenda of peace and development.
Sports is a language of shared love that bring different culture and diversity together. For, thousands of years humans have engaged themselves and participated in this universal element of co-existing with one another.
Sport is that equipment which encompasses unity and acceptance of yours and other’s personality. Though, playing sports is a vast cultural change that brings perspective shift without impairment of judgment. The association of sports culture and education is also safeguarded without any discrimination or whatsoever.
